ATM Routing
A switch acts like a router to set up a connection. An initial cell, containing addressing info in its data, sets up a connection by reserving path information in a table in each switch:
The sender chooses the initial path id. It must be unique among the current connections from the sender to its local switch.
Each switch S chooses the next path id. It must be unique among the current connections from S to the next switch, on the given output port.
